WestWord Communications is a Germany based marketing studio and consultancy. We position German brands for global trust.
In 2023, I formed WestWord Communications, a marketing studio and consultancy. And in 2024, my partner Tommy Burson joined me.
As two former journalists (though National Geographic magazine still sends Tommy around the world to report a feature once in a while), we started out focused on content marketing. But we quickly realized there was a gap in the market that we were well positioned to fill.
That gap was cultural.
German companies face a common pain point when moving from a German-specific market into a more international setting. And it isn't a linguistic challenge. Germans often speak fantastic English. But German businesses learn quickly that translating a winning message from German into English doesn't guarantee the same success that the messaging had with its original German audience. To succeed, you need to address the new audience as its own thing, with cultural nuance, preconceived notions, and unique pain points.
As two American immigrants in Germany, Tommy and I are well positioned to help. We have a deep understanding of both German and American culture. And we understand Europe's international, English-speaking community better than anyone.
Together we have built a strong track record of helping German businesses big and small develop new, international customer bases. From our home base in Germany, we've supported projects on four continents.
